Communication: The Key to a Successful Relationship

Even dumb couples communicate. You have no excuse or rather, it's a big shame on you if your relationship scatters because of a communication fault.

Good communication is an important part of any partnership. Business, relationship, etc.

What is communication and why is it so important in a relationship?

Communication is the transfer of information from one person to another. It can be through written words, speaking, gestures, body language, symbolic expressions, facial expressions, etc.

In relationships, communication is used to express yourself to your partner. What you're experiencing, how you feel, your needs....

Basically, like lubricants in engines, communication gives you and your partner a smooth ride in your relationship.

Importance of Communication in a Relationship

• To build connection

• To solve misunderstanding

• To know each other better

• To build trust

• To build support

No matter how well you know someone, you cannot read their minds. Communication has to be clear to avoid misunderstanding.

Don't draw conclusions from what you see. Because well... You see through your own senses and most times what you see is not all there is.

Your sense of judgement, experience and perception determine how you view a matter.

If you draw conclusions without asking, you would only be judging from your own view.

Always ask questions when unsure to avoid confusion and unnecessary resentment towards your partner.

Now that you know why communication is essential in your relationship, you should consider how to go about it effectively.
