In the last week of December 2022, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) recorded 35 new cases of COVID-19 infections.

The additional cases bring Nigeria's overall infection to 266,450, with 3,155 deaths since the pandemic's beginning in 2019.

According to information posted on its website on Wednesday, 22 of the recorded instances were in the FCT, ten in Lagos State, two in Delta, and one in Plateau.

According to the NCDC, 3,451 persons are now infected with the virus, with 259,841 people treated and released across the country.

To prevent the spread of the virus and other dangerous diseases, the NCDC encouraged Nigerians to sterilize regularly touched surfaces.

It underlined the importance of vaccinations as one of the most effective methods for combating the virus and encouraged Nigerians to get them.

Ensure that you receive your immunizations and booster doses. Vaccines provide the most effective protection against serious illness, hospitalization, and death.  In addition to immunizations, people at high risk should wear masks, avoid crowds, practice hand cleanliness, and so on.

Getting vaccinated protects you from the #COVID19 virus, which can cause serious sickness, hospitalization, and death.
