The Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia State, Chief David Chigbu, has resigned his membership of the party.

He also declared support for Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, who is running for the Abia South senatorial district election under the umbrella of the All Progressive Grand Alliance against Governor Okezie Ikpeazu. Abaribe had left the PDP in the build-up to the party’s primary election last year.

Chigbu in a statement on Thursday, stated that his former party was a fraud and one that has thrown the state under the bus. He also described the party in the state and its government as a nest of liars, who have sunk to an all-time low in the face of imminent defeat at the coming polls.

He said that Abaribe is a symbol of what integrity and resilience is, even in the face of persecution and has to leave now before the collapse of what remains of PDP.
