NGO WINET, Mundo Cooperante award scholarships to 60 indigent female students in Enugu State

The Women Information network(WINET), a non governmental organization in collaboration with a foreign partner, Mundo Cooperante of Spain awarded scholarships to indigent female students of Community High School Umabor Eha – Alumona, in Nsukka Council Area of Enugu state.

During the award ceremony held on Wednesday at the school premises, Mrs. Miriam Menkiti, the Executive Director of WINET, emphasized that this initiative was part of the organization's "Right to be a Girl Project to End Girl Child Marriage."

Mrs. Dim, the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Officer of the NGO who presented the third-term scholarships (2022-2023) to 60 female students from the school reaffirmed the NGO's commitment to ensuring girls' education and urged parents not to withdraw their daughters from school for marriage or any other reason during the scholarship period.

She emphasized the importance of parents' active involvement in sending all their daughters to school, just like their sons.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the scholarship recipients, Abigail Ezeguorie, a Junior Secondary 1 student, thanked WINET and Mundo Cooperante for their financial assistance. 

She assured them that the beneficiaries would take their studies seriously and appreciate the support provided.
