The Lagos State Task Force conducted an operation on Sunday to clear the rail tracks in the Agege area of the metropolis as part of its ongoing efforts to restore order along the railway corridors in the state.

According to a statement by Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, the Director of Press and Public Affairs for the task force, the Chairman, CSP Shola Jejeloye, led the exercise.

Jejeloye emphasized that the operation was crucial to preserving lives, property, and ensuring safety and security along the rail tracks in the state. The primary objective was to discourage any form of business activities on the tracks and prevent obstructions that could hinder the smooth movement of trains.

He stated the activities of these traders are defacing the outlook of the rail tracks by setting up these slums and makeshift buildings here, but we will make sure that we leave no form of environmental crimes unchecked.

The task force boss further mentioned that the enforcement efforts would continue for a month across the state to deter traders from returning and to ensure that all rail line corridors are completely cleared and restored.
