The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has declared that its Annual Conference for 2023 will take place in Nigeria's Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The event, scheduled from October 4 to 5, will be hosted at Abuja Continental Hotel (formerly Old Sheraton Hotel).
Danlami Nmodu and Olumide Iyanda, Chairperson and Secretary respectively of the 2023 Conference Planning Committee, signed a press statement detailing the conference. The theme chosen for this year's event is "Nigeria: Charting a Path to Socio-Economic Recovery and Long-Term Sustainability."
The conference will feature a keynote address delivered by a prominent business magnate. The theme selection is influenced by the present socio-political and economic landscape of Nigeria, characterized by new leadership emerging after the 2023 general elections.
This discussion will provide valuable insights to guide these fresh leaders. Notable past speakers include Rev. Matthew Hassan Kukah, who addressed the 2019 conference on "Economy, Security, and National Development: Paving the Way Forward."
In 2021, Mr. Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19, delivered a keynote speech on "Post Covid-19 Pandemic: Rebuilding and Recovering in Nigeria."
In the previous year, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, presented a speech titled "Managing the Process for Credible Outcomes in the 2023 Elections." Nmodu also affirmed that comprehensive preparations have been undertaken to ensure the success of the 2023 conference, marking the inaugural time that Abuja hosts the GOCOP Annual Conference.
