According to a recent report from the Kaduna State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), a total of 84 suspects were apprehended in the month of July.
In a statement released on Sunday 27th August, 2023, Commander Ibrahim Braji highlighted that the command successfully confiscated 451.976kg of illegal drugs during the same period. Additionally, the command achieved six convictions of suspects.
Commander Braji went on to mention that the seized drugs encompassed a variety of substances, including Indian Hemp, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Tramadol, and other Psychotropic substances.
The cumulative weight of the seized drugs amounted to 451.976kg. Notably, the command's operatives also recovered 90 rounds of live ammunition, live bullets of 7.62mm calibers, and a new Jojef pump action gun with registration number 23-0174.
Braji informed that the command had taken down 18 illicit drug joints across the state, including locations such as Kantin Agah, Hayin Dan-mani, Mando, Anguwan Dosa, Mararabar Rido, Tukur-Tukur, and Sabon Gari. He emphasized the need for parents to monitor their children's associations and urged them to be vigilant about their friends.
The commander issued a warning to illegal drug dealers, urging them to seek lawful means of livelihood. He made it clear that the agency would pursue and hold accountable those who persisted in illegal activities, ensuring they faced legal consequences.
