Continuing his diplomatic efforts to strengthen ties and promote peace, Arole Oduduwa, Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II CFR, is currently engaged in a week-long visit to Uganda, at the invitation of President Yoweri Museveni and his wife Mrs. Janet Museveni.
The visit coincides with the couple's wedding anniversary and vow renewal ceremony in Rukungiri, Uganda. During the trip, Ooni Adeyeye met privately with President Museveni to discuss enhancing unity and bilateral relationships within Africa.
Ooni, accompanied by his wife Olori Temitope Ogunwusi and Alara of Ilara-Epe kingdom Oba Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, emphasized the importance of fostering trade, business, and investment relationships between Nigeria and Uganda. He highlighted the role of traditional rulers in bridging the gap between the people and the government, and stressed their potential to drive sociocultural and economic development.
Ooni also praised President Museveni's leadership and advocated for a united African approach to economic growth, with a focus on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
President Museveni expressed his appreciation for the visit and expressed his willingness to collaborate on trade and investment initiatives. He emphasized the unity of African nations and their shared ideologies.
