Arik Air shareholders have refuted statements made by the Managing Director of AMCON, Alhaji Ahmed Kuru, regarding the airline's takeover, describing his comments as an attempt to misinform the public and distort the facts.

They expressed their willingness to engage in a dialogue with AMCON before involving investigative authorities to establish the facts. The shareholders disputed AMCON's actions, stating that Arik Air was not in default of its financial obligations when it was forcefully taken over in 2017.

They also criticized AMCON's handling of the airline's assets and operations, citing significant job losses and the shutdown of routes. Additionally, they called for transparency in the process and questioned the basis for AMCON's intervention.
