Azibaola requests mindfulness of Communities in the timber and wildlife preservation in the Niger Delta
An environmentalist and mastermind in Bayelsa, the name Robert Azibaola, made a public advertisement as regards the increase
in the unsystematic destruction of rainforests in Bayelsa and also called for enlightenment to help educate the residers of the
state.
This advertisement was made right after probing for 2- weeks in the deep rainforest.
He made the citation that the passage was to determine and make known to the world the rich foliage
and fauna present in the timber.
Mr. Azibaola, on getting to the Niger Delta rainforest latterly discovered that it has been oppressively
destroyed. Grounded on the information handed by him, the trees were felled for wood logging, as well
as for husbandry. Deforestation was a regular practice there.
Azibaola also lamented the rate at which the oil painting spillage was taking place, as he revealed that
timber was deprived of the capability to produce oxygen. He said the community kept mute about it the
fact that they were ignorant about the side goods it could bring on.
“ They are ignorant about issues of climate change, timber protection, and conservation. They are
ignorant of the indispensable use of timber coffers for income generation.
“ There are no timber regulations similar that many individualities are economically serving from
magpie slice down of trees for timber. ”
Mr. Azibaola gave his own view saying that the government has neglected its duty in regulating the use
of timber coffers and that there are no commitment to administering the rule.
“ The government has forgotten that there is a need to educate communities on climate change,
salutary use of timber coffers, the significance of rainforest to humanity, and conservation of rare
species of creatures.
He made given that if sweats weren't made on time to insure that the biodiversity of the Niger
rainforest is conserved, the timber and all therein would go into extermination veritably soon.
Pertaining back to his trip to the timber,Mr. Azibaola was sure that there wo n’t be any form of attack
by wild creatures grounded on his exploration
“ We took all the preventives necessary for our safety. While we didn't go into the timber to destroy
wildlife, we were careful to keep down from them too. ” He said.
Azibaola gave some suggestions to the government, which include setting up a good nonsupervisory
body that would be in charge of the timber coffers. He also advised against felling trees erroneously,
which turns out to be the natural territories of wild creatures.
“ State governments across the region must cooperate in this regard. Multilateral and transnational
institutions in Nigeria and across the globe must also help in this regard in the area of training and
capacity structure as well as coffers for effective enforcement while other commercial institutions must
move down from the idea of equating the Niger Delta to oil painting disquisition ”, he said.
He concluded that “ The Niger Delta rainforest needs protection as are other important timbers across
the globe. This could be done by exposing the issues and proper education of the original people. And,
this is the reason I embarked on this formerly- by-a-lifetime passage
